Innocence LostHeightened incense of purity and pleasure,
Shaded rainbows of joys endeavoured.
I sacrifice my heart to no measure,
As in virginal calm it beats unweathered.
As in virginal calm it beats unweathered.
In furative moments of ecstatic zeal,
I see a friend to love and treasure.
Promised flights in fantasy surreal,
Have in me a new person engendered.
Trust and faith too easily won,
From dreams in love I have spun.
A sparkling lace of unseeming lies,
A sparkling lace of unseeming lies,
That veil the truth of love denied.
Sowed deep in the shadows of dark,
Thrives a seed of infernal lust;
I see it not for live do I, in my love's eternal spark,
As it crushes my dreams and joys into the gathering dust.
Merciless storms violate my soul,
And struggle to stay afloat.
I drown in oceans of misery cold,
And isolate my pain in a world untold.
Shrinking away from any ray of hope,
Sealed have I any threshold of care.
As each memory does my pain invoke,
I hide away in shadows, beaten and betrayed.
Winding roads and unending trails,
Have a new woman begot.
Wiser now to joys innate,
I stand here with an innocence lost.
